hi all, sixteen mails, a couple of days, and a couple of new issues after my original post, I still have not so much as a clue as to where I can FIND any help on my subject... forget actually getting any REAL help at all.
I'm NOT saying that I should have been helped... I'm NOT saying that someone OUGHT to have helped me... all i'm saying is -- why do we so often drift away from the real point at [LIH] .. and get into discussions of this nature ? I hope people on this list realise that the very purpose of this list is getting defeated by such postings. In this mail i have two concerns -- one obviously is my original subject -- "how to get anaconda to not display redhat anyhwere in my own distribution" and the other is -- "how we can better control this list and OURSELVES, so that we dont deviate from the main questions" here on LIH, lets stick to technical queries only... for everything else, we have LIG, remember ? hope i'm not starting another flame on this list... and i sincerely request every1 on this list to reply to me OFF THE LIST. i promise to keep the flame alive off the list for as long as i can. but if u're replying about anaconda, please do post ON THE LIST for the benefit of others too. coming back to the main subject -- someone, (i cant remember who), had posted that only _one_ rpm needs to be changed to remove "redhat" fromt the distribution. This is not true... 'redhat' needs to be removed from anaconda, so that the trademark is not displayed during installation.. moreover, the directory structure itself has "RedHat".. which needs to be renamed... its much more complex than just changing _one_ rpm. any suggestions / pointers, will really be appreciated. --satsco. ========= --- Satsco <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > hi all > > i've successfully shrinked the 3-CD RH 7.3 Set > to a single CD with only the rpms i want, > non graphical and with kickstart on the > cd itself to auto install from start to end. > > now i want to redo the same thing -- but with the > name "redhat" removed altogether... during > installation and after installation. this will also > involve changing the directory structure of the > installation CD. > > any1 on this list has done such a thing ? any > pointers > > or suggestions will be of gr8 help. > > tia. > > --satsco. __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!?
