I didn't like xcircuit as much as xfig. Xfig is much more flexible and creating 
your own components are not so simle in xcircuit.

I don't do big enough pcbs that need netlist etc. So I can live for the moment 
without that.

IIRC xcircuit has got integrated with something called as Magic for PCB but 
could not find that program anywhere.

I have found that to create your own components in pcb, one has to write m4 
macros. I am not really upto it as of now so going slow there..

XFig rocks. If it had enough components for PCB drawing built in, I would used 
the same for PCB. It's damn flexible and easy to use..
