Well, I for one am quite disappointed with this area in Linux. I have
tried 'xcircuit', 'oregano' for schematic capture, but they are not for
professional use, I feel.

Similarly, I tried 'pcb', but adequate help is not available with the
program. So, frustrated.

Recently, I downloaded the trial version of EagleCAD, and it looks to be
better than the others. But extensive practice is required to work with
it, and since it is only a trial version, the size of the Schematic/PCB
is limited.

So, I have no other choice but to maintain a win98 partion and use
Protel for the professional grade PCBs. I thought I could use wine to
operate the Protel from Linux, but that did not work out. Wine runs ok,
but does not open Protel.
