I have an FTP server with an internal IP, 192.168.x.x
Its been setup behind a firewall ( checkpoint) and an external ip has been
mapped to this internal ftp server.

I am able to ftp to this server from an internal machine, but when i try to
access it from the external IP, i keep getting the message, a connection
with the server could not be established.

I have enabled the rules to this internal machine as ANY to ANY.

I was googling around when i found this issue of active and passive modes. I
am not very clear about this. Can anybody throw some light on this ?

Arvind
