I am using maildrop + sendmail on a mail server running debian potato. It was working fine for more than 8 months and suddenly for the past few days, mails are not getting delivered(local only). External mails are getting transferred. Mail log and syslog shows only status as deferred. If I am disabling local mailer in sendmail, mails are getting delivered to the usual /var/spool/<user> files. While compiling maildrop, I have used the option --enable-sylog=1. I am using Maidir format for my mailboxes.
/usr/sbin/sendmail -q -v ... force the queue and make it run manually.
See what you get.
And post some logs.
