Hello, I have a RedHat 6.2 Server with cvs on it. Recently for the past three days I ahve started getting network problems with that server. I keep losing connectivity and I receive messages like "connection reset by peer" while connecting form cvs client and"connection refused " while connecting via ssh client. When I ping form my machine, I am not able to ping to the server. But when I go to the server and try to connect to my machine, everything works. For short duration I loose the connection and then again the server is back on the network. I have already changed the physical socket and the network cable. Sometimes I can to the server from a client wheres I am unable to login using ssh or cvs client. The response from the server is very odd, and I am unable to diagnose the actual problem. I dont think its a problem of xinetd service.
How can I check for : (a) Network card problems : (b) Network connectivity issues ? Please help.
