I don't know how useful this is but it is a bit annonying for something
to change permissions directly.
I want to disable the use of msec completely. (Or is it not
recommended?)
I checked /var/lib/msec files but am not sure what to do.
Can anyone tell?

msec = mandrake security.

runs from cron. go find the cron.daily or whatever file msec is called from and get rid of it.
