Animesh, As I had mentioned earlier, I have been using Reliance WLL phone to access internet regularly for last 6 months on Linux. Software developed for Linux by my students is available from Reliance Infocom website. I think the PCQuest has also published a review of this in the recent issue.
Internet access works all over India giving tremendous access. They use PPP. We have also provided source code of the software.
