I am assuming you are using RedHat .If you are, try tweaking the XF86config file manually and enter the resolution in the appropriate section incrementally.I mean, start with 800x600 and see the result. Then move on to the next rsolution and see what happens . This trick worked for me on a friend's machine with an Lg 17" monitor (don't remember the model# tho) . > In TEXT MODE if I change the font( /etc/sysconfig/i18n > ) a page full of display dosesnt scroll of the screen. > Like if i do a $ls on a huge directory i get the first > page of display and the prompt disappears down the > screen...i then have to do a $clear to get back the > prompt. > > In X terminal gives absurd display. AC97 is a standard Intel board sound chip !! Again , on Rh, try running Kudzu, the hardware detection tool and see what comes up ! take a look at the hardware mixer settings in the Sound and Multimedia section of the control centre. > > Could soem one tell me where to get the dirvers for > this Motherboard( its not there on > www.microtekdirect.com ) .
