Hai all,
I have a Linux Red Hat installation on an AMB Athlon machine. Recently
my PC got stuck and later when it restarted I had to run the fsck to
make it work. But after that my network card is not functioning at all.
My n/w card is an on board card.(MSI KM2M combo) and it had used the
8139 module for network. The error message I get when I do a modprobe is
/lib/modules/2.4.18-14/kernel/drivers/net/8139too.o: init_module: No
such device
/lib/modules/2.4.18-14/kernel/drivers/net/8139too.o: insmod
/lib/modules/2.4.18-14/kernel/drivers/net/8139too.o failed
/lib/modules/2.4.18-14/kernel/drivers/net/8139too.o: Can't locate module
2
Hint: insmod errors can be caused by incorrect module parameters,
including invalid IO or IRQ parameters.
You may find more information in syslog or the output from dmesg
This is the output from dmesg
8139too Fast Ethernet driver 0.9.25
PCI: Found IRQ 11 for device 00:05.0
PCI: Sharing IRQ 11 with 00:10.0
8139too: 00:05.0: Chip not responding, ignoring board
