In your exim.conf, set user spavri (and any other logins that send mail on exim) as a trusted user. trusted_users is the variable you need.


Then use mutt with set envelope_from in your .muttrc

Forget /etc/email-addresses, which is a debian uniqueness / perversion / whatever (in fact ditching "eximconfig" and configuring exim by hand using the exim default config, and http://www.hserus.net/exim.html would be a great idea)

And if you use exim please use Andreas Metzler's exim 4 backport for debian stable, or his deb of exim 4 for the unstable / testing versions.
