hi, have u tried this mount -t vfat /dev/hda6 /c or what ever folder

This may be due to the fact that your windows drive (the one that is D: in windows or /dev/hda6 in linux) is not properly formated. I received same error yesterday while configuring a newly installed linux system. Also check that you havent mounted a partition already in /c folder
