hi, I am testing a mail server. From my local Linux machine when i run "telnet myserver.com 25" it works fine.
But when I run "nmap -p 25 myserver.com" it says: Note: Host seems down. If it is really up, but blocking our ping probes, try -P0 Nmap run completed --1 IP address (0 hosts up) scanned in 42 seconds I also tried running nmap with -P0 option but still it fails to detect that 25 remote port! I know there is a NOKIA IP350 firewall in between and that is the only possible reason to block my port scans. But then my question is how does that firewall knows that I am doing a port scan and not a normal telnet to port 25 of my mails server? And is there anyway to put my nmap port scans through ?? Please guide thanks in advance. --vaibhav __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo! SiteBuilder - Free web site building tool.
