hi people, I am a 4th year student and i am doing a project "Deadlock Checker tool" in LINUX.The main aima of the project is to check for deadlocks at a current point of time. For this, i need to take the information dynamically from the system. One way I thought to do that was to access the structure in which the process table is stored and copy it into a virtual table and then use it for finding deadlocks.I just want to know whether this is feasible or is there any other method to take information dynamically. I do have 1 more problem with this project. The reason y i have taken this project is to get some hands on experience in LINUX.Now, veen when i finish the code, i wud not be able to prove if my code is working perfectly because LINUX does allready have deadlock management and recovery. So please also suggest me any way of proving that my code is correct by say using some tool or anything. waiting for replies. Madhu
