I have a whole load of abiword files in .abw format. I would like to
convert these to the native openoffice format. I didn't find anything
helpful on google. Abiword is now a part of gnome office. And there is a
plugin for importing/exporting files to and from openoffice on the abiword
website but no documentation on it.

The only way I can see is to save the abiword files as .doc and then have
openoffice convert them. Unfortunately I have to save as .doc manually as
there is no way to do it automatically. The command abiword <file> --to=
does not have the option for converting to .doc files.

regards,

Sharukh.
