yes, defaultroute is set automatically. And theorically there is no need 
to set route to a host in the same class C subnet? 

The dial-in connections come thru /dev/ttyLT0,ttyLT1 to ttyLT7. I want to 
set a dial-out to Internet on ttyS0 and it should bring up the 'ppp8' 
interface always so that i may set IPtables on ppp8 always. Any way ?
