Hi,

I am using mailertable for sendmail for relaying mails for a particular
domain. Sendmail is running on 8.9.3, which is outdated, I cant update it as
of now to the latest version, because that involves a lot of procedures, to
update to the latest version it will take upto 2 weeks, for getting
permission to get the software updated, but till then this is what is
happening.

When I issue sendmail -bt
%sendmail -bt
> /map mailertable abc.com
map_lookup: mailertable (abc.com) returns smtp:[x.x.x.x] (0)

I am getting the IP of where the mail has to be relayed, which is correct.
But the mails are getting relayed via internet, Sendmail is using DNS to
query the MX record for abc.com & then relaying it to the mailserver for
abc.com, which is going via internet, but I want it to route through the
mail server which I have specified in mailertable.

I have entered a entry for the internal mail server in /etc/hosts , also I
have changed the entry in /etc/nsswitch.conf to look for files and then dns
for name lookups.

I am sure this should work, but it is not working...... I am kind of lost.

Can somebody help me in this regard.

TIA,
Manjunath
