It wasn't the question of how many packages among the huge 10k+ packages
do you use.
And about the stupid sig file by MBM, I'd rather say that it's better to
look at Debian closely. If you are aware of it, you know it better that
Debian SID is the most upgraded and bleeding edge release.
Debian Stable (Woody) is quite old but people are happy with it. You
yourself maintain servers and hopefully know that people don't like dist-upgrades on 
servers
frequently. A simple/similar example is RedHat. RedHat too has followed the path of 
Debian for
it's RHEL range of products which have a release cycle of 18-24 months.
I hope your sig in near future would also include RHEL along with Debian.
