Well Like Mr. Raghuram suggested, I changed the line unix/:7100 to /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/
in /etc/X11/XF86Config file.
I also stopped and restarted the xfs
After all this, when I gave the command startx, it gave me the following errors:

Not enough space on /tmp **********
I am using SiS 6326 AGP card. There is about 500 Mb free disk space
