I guess it's RAM that's acting up since my friend's PC with the same config as above works flawlessly with WIN2k+FC1+MDK9.1+ SLK9.1 . As Vinu suggested, run memtest or better still plug the RAM into someother box you might have and check. A couple of posts earlier someone posted a link to memtester which didn't require a boot disk . You could try that ? One pointer could be towards the BIOS : try disabling mem check at boot time and see what happens. I kinda came across a similar problem while loading RH9 on a P4 box and solved it by disabling the 'Scan Flash Memory Area' in BIOS. > Regards, > Vinu. > -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- > Version: GnuPG v1.2.3 (GNU/Linux) > > iD8DBQFAdLF1fQe5A1YbfuURAhqVAJwPEOu0rasXFXxH1Nt4N8zE/WcsZwCgvVlD > Wn1lEuMhrhYbqaU3WvWi0AQ= > =18SB > -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- > > > > ------------------------------------------------------- > This SF.Net email is sponsored by: IBM Linux Tutorials > Free Linux tutorial presented by Daniel Robbins, President and CEO of > GenToo technologies.
