[LIH]where to start studying linux at the kernel level

hi list
      I came to know linux from rehat 7 version.. but i  didnt have hands 
on it until last november..
now i want to study something the progarmming stuff in the linux kernel 
where should i start..
i have studied C and assembly both in the dos environment..
