I have a FWP of Reliance and have been using it to connect to
the net as a standby measure, when cable mode is down or I need
to connect from a laptop from some place which has no other
mode for connection. IMHO, it is not very economical for
regular use. Speed is comparable with cable at Bangalore.

There used to be command line rconnect rpm package for RH-8
earlier. Don't know about current status. I had made small
alterations for it to work under Slack, and it is working fine
under Slack 9.1 presently and on my LFS system.

I got simlar reponse from the Reliance marketing folk. I had
googled for "rconnect+linux" or something like that which led
me to a PC Quest page which gave the correct link on Reliance
site. That was almost 7-8 months ago.

Yes, it is possible to use Reliance FWP under Linux. IIRC,
there were some discussions on this subject on LIH quite some
time ago though I don't recall if it was specifically FWP or
CMDA. I forget the link from where I downloaded the rpm. Just
google, and you would find. In case you are on Slack I could
send you my modified tarball.
