Hello All,
I am using
* Fedora Core 1 (Yarrow)
* sendmail-8.12.10-1.1.1
* fetchmail-5.9.14-1
When a user on my server (say [EMAIL PROTECTED])
sends email to another user (say [EMAIL PROTECTED]),
the mail bounces back with error "Unknown user".
Now user2 is not created on my server, but the email
id exists at the domain (mydomain.com), and is
configured for download at another location.
How can I change sendmail to forward (relay) all
emails of unknown users (unknown to my system) to the
MX pointed server of mydomain.com ?
I've beeing googling a bit since the past 2-3 days,
and vaguely understand that SMART_HOST is an option.
I tried it with the following in my sendmail.mc file :
define(`SMART_HOST',`smtp.mydomain.com')
I then recompiled the sendmail.cf file and restarted
sendmail. But this did not seem to work. Is SMART_HOST
really the solution ? If yes, why does it not work for
me ? Where could I be going wrong ?
can any1 help me on this pleeeeeez !!
TIA,
satsco.
