Okay, replying to my own mail. Might help someone with a similar problem.

This seems to be a problem with Fedora Core and pcmcia network cards. I had
debian on this machine previously hence I don't know if this problem affected
any of the other RedHat distros.

It seems that on bootup, network is brought up before pcmicia. Hence the card is
not detected at bootup.

The trick is to start network after pcmcia. Rename the link
/etc/rc5.d/S10network to /etc/rc5.d/S27network.

Pcmcia starts at S24 so I guess any number after 24 should do the trick for
startng network.

Okay this problem solved, now see my other mail on debian not detecting the card
on installation.
