I have tried this with other windows PCs also, same problem occurs, Thus it seems that there is some problem with FC-2 / samba mount. Can any help me what configuration I have to check in FC-2 / samba to find out that every thing is right with it for windows folder mounting.
You don't need any configurations while mounting a smb share from some other machine. Even the SMB daemons need not be started. Look for these: a) Kernel has support for smbfs. b) Samba client libraries are installed. c) You are root while mounting.
One more thing you could try out is wether you're able to connect to the share via smbclient or not.
