Linux is a clone of Unix designed initially for the x86 architecture.
Since it's a clone, it's primary target is the server arena. Open nature
and FSF have made it a good Desktop OS too.
It's good for Development, education and research where people love
munching the code or are just too keen to understand the way a
computer/os functions.
