Right but it does not hurt accelarating that effort. A news article stating that a customer left because the bank does not offer non-IE operations does lot of bad press for bank. If not for customer care, they would act for bad press.


Throw in security reputation of IE and recent news like http://news.zdnet.com/2100-1009_22-5406550.html, it would give out an impression that the bank is forcing insecure transactions and hence not doing a good job protecting the customers. IE or not, that has to have lot more severe consequences..

I agree that one may do without publicizing it but that wouldn't work unless it hurts a lot to the bank. You need to be a really big fish for the bank to make it worth.
