successfully detected the card. Where can I go and find out more about the card and driver installed for that card?
To find out the card, run '/sbin/lspci'. On my machine, it gives a line something like:
[...]
01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: nVidia Corporation NV5M64 [RIVA TNT2 Model 64/Model 64 Pro] (rev 15)
[...]
To find out the X driver being used for your card, look in /var/log/Xorg.0.log. The following command find out the driver for me:
$ grep -iC2 "module class: .*video driver" /var/log/Xorg.0.log
(II) Module nvidia: vendor="NVIDIA Corporation"
compiled for 4.0.2, module version = 1.0.6111
Module class: XFree86 Video Driver
(II) LoadModule: "mouse"
(II) Loading /usr/X11R6/lib/modules/input/mouse_drv.o
