hi,
  i tried to run gimp from a remote machine's X server. It didnt
work....
  What I did is as as follows

Server: (i ssh-ed to this server also from the client itself)
------
        export DISPLAY=<client-ip>:0.0

Client:
-------
        $ xhost +
        $ ssh server-ip
        $ gimp

It didnot work and the following warning was displayed:

Gtk-WARNING **: cannot open display: 151.8.80.80:0.0

How can I overcome this problem? Or is there a still simpler way to do
the same?

Thanks for all replies in advance.....
