Yep..:-) I changed the owner/group of sendmail binary to root.smmsp and now sendmail works... Earlier I had done similar thing but I had moved /usr to preserve owner/group... but this time to keep the existing /usr intact I did cp -r and renamed the existing /usr as /usr-old.. Booted the system and since it booted without any problems deleted /usr-old :-) Anyway.. After this mutt problem is solved.. Will continue with this existing installation... I have done lot of configuration stuff so don't want to reinstall and redo all that.. No time... Now I have to fix why mutt is showing /var/spool/mail/rajesh as readonly mailbox... I cannot delete anything.. The status line shows _%_mutt when I try to delete any mail it shows readonly-mailbox... Thanks a lot for your help...
