That only shows your lack of knowledge of RHEL. RHEL 3.0, released
about 18 months ago, is already at Update 4 - think of them as Service
Packs. For all the included software, later features have been
backported to the RHEL 3.0 version. You get best of both worlds -
newer features AND backward compatibility.

For example, RHEL 3.0 Apache is still called 2.0.46, and DSOs built
for 2.0.46 work without recompilation, but features/bug fixes of upto
2.0.51 are included in the current updated version
(httpd-2.0.46-44.ent).

The best part of it is that RHEL 3.0 is GUARANTEED to be supported for
the next five years - even if they release RHEL 4.0 this year or next.
