Re: CPU speed:
model name : AMD Athlon(tm) 64 Processor 3200+
cpu MHz : 2009.785
The 3200+ is just a model name (albeit a rather misleading one) -- the
actual CPU speed is only 2GHz.
I don't know why there's a difference in the speeds -- are you using
any 64-bit optimised code on your machine? I'm running stock Debian
Sarge with a 386 (yup, 386!) kernel at the moment.
