To configure BSNL broadband on Redhat 9 is very easy job.

login as root
run the command # adsl-setup
it will ask for your login name,Interface default=eth0,
If you the DNS IP address put that one otherwise press enter and continue
put password of your login
set the firewall settings
save the settings

now start the service

#adsl-start

open browser and check the connectivity,

Regards
Nilesh.

I have configured Dataone connection just a few days back, but on Debian
Sarge and Ubuntu. Should not be much different in other distros.
Here goes -
As root, in a terminal or command line, run 'pppoeconfig'. It wil detect
your modem and will ask you to give the username and password. Next it
will ask you if you want DNS configuration to be given to you by the IP,
say yes. Then it will ask if you want the connection to come up when you
start up the computer, say yes and that's all.
Whenever you switch on your computer, have your modem turned on before.
You can also turn on/off your connection through 'pon' and 'poff'.
