Last month I had configured my DSL Modem using rp-pppoe, but after
upgrading my Debian Sarge box, I was being warned, during boot time,
that the method used for bringing up my network card was deprecated and
that I should use the method specified in /etc/network/interfaces.
After carefully going through, I discovered that only thing needed to
confirm to the new method was to delete the file - /etc/ppp/ppp_on_boot
:-O

Please note - configuration of the DSL modem remains same, ie, as root,
run 'pppoeconf' and answer all the questions.

Maybe this will help someone to struggle a little less ;)
