Thanks for the reply. I wanted to eliminate duplicate loading to
reduce boot time.
How to know which ie discover, hotplug or udev is loading which
modules and how to avoid duplication.
One more interesting point and also puzzle for me.
I have homepc with A7N8X deluxe mb with amd athlon 2400+. mb has two
ethernet ports one 3com and other forcedeth. Normally 3com port is
configured as eth1. As per my /etc/network/interfaces, it is
configured as 192.168.0.1 as below
Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 00:26:54:0E:8E:C0
inet addr:192.168.0.1 Bcast:192.168.0.255 Mask:255.255.255.0

but when I removed discover1 to remove duplicate loading of modules,
ifconfig gives me following for 3com
eth1 Link encap:UNSPEC HWaddr
00-E0-18-00-00-23-C1-AD-00-00-00-00-00-00-00-00
          inet addr:192.168.0.1 Bcast:192.168.0.255 Mask:255.255.255.0
Here I couldn't connect to this pc from laptop. Once again when I
installed discover1, I got back
eth1 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 00:26:54:0E:8E:C0
        inet addr:192.168.0.1 Bcast:192.168.0.255 Mask:255.255.255.0
and laptop could connect. Any explanation and possibility to remove
discover and also duplicate module loading
