Hi,
I have a mail client configured for mail.gmx.net pop account in windows. For the past few days it was not working properly, I thought there is some problem with the windows system but later I noted that mail.gmx.net resolves to two IP address and with one IP address it connects and with the other it did not. But I am able to ping both the IPs . I never had any problem to connect "telnet mail.gmx.net 110" through a linux machine. But when I pinged mail.gmx.net it goes to both the IPs more or less alternately.

My question is, how does linux handles to connect to correct IP address to port 110 or is it a mere coincidence and the problem will occur in linux also.

Thanks
