1. its mere coincidence - with 2 A records pointing to a single host it
is a 50% chance which A record your dns resolver chooses

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~ dig mail.gmx.net ANY

mail.gmx.net. 1h59m22s IN A 213.165.64.21
mail.gmx.net. 1h59m22s IN A 213.165.64.20

2. The correct pop server for gmx is pop.gmx.net - which resolves to
just one IP

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~ dig pop.gmx.net ANY

pop.gmx.net. 23h58m40s IN A 213.165.64.20

2. The correct pop server for gmx

3. Fix your pop3 settings
