make sure not to buy USB infra-red dongle which has SigmaTel chipset.
configuring it is pain in the a** and it doesn't work smoothly all time.
how to recognize is by plugging it in a linux machine and monitoring
/var/log/messages. it should not display SigmaTel. more information is
