Have you defined any nameservers in the system running proxy server ? Check /etc/resolv.conf and make entries for nameservers in it.
Please tell me where i went wrong.I dont want public address in the proxy client.
You can run a caching nameserver on the gateway / proxy server and ask your clients to use it.
