You still need a DNS cache where the clients can send their queries
to. If you had a plain proxy, then the proxy would have handled DNS
queries, but with a transparent proxy, each client needs to handle
their own DNS queries.

Setup a DNS cache somewhere on your LAN and point your clients to use it.
