Nothing LOL about it. It is a well known fact that Unix market share has been steadily declining in favour of Windows and Linux. On the other hand, the important part of the IDC report is this: "Linux servers generated $1.6 billion in quarterly revenue, the fourteenth consecutive quarter of double-digit growth, with year-over-year revenue growth of 20.8%. For the full year, Linux server revenues were $5.7 billion, placing it in third place for the first time" Which you can compare with: "The Windows server market continued to show solid growth, with factory revenues increasing by 4.7% year over year. Overall, Windows servers accounted for $4.9 billion in 4Q05, representing 33.6% of quarterly server market revenue. For all of 2005, Windows server revenues were $17.7 billion" Bottom line: high end Unix servers (Sun, IBM, HP etc.) are dying, being replaced by x86-based servers running Windows & Linux. Of these two, Linux is growing four times faster than Windows. IBM realized this long ago, and shifted their focus to Linux. Sun hasn't so far, hence their occassional attack on Free Software. :) Mind you, a lot of people buy virgin servers and install Linux on them rather than buying pre-installed Linux servers, so the Linux numbers won't be correct either.
