Make sure your MP3 files do not use Variable Bit Rate and are recorded at a constant bit rate of 128kbps
Try not to record at too high bitrate, keep it at around 128, no more no less for max compatibility. Hope that helps. ----- Original Message ----- From: kghosh <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: Linux - India <linux-india-help@lists.sourceforge.net> Sent: ਸ਼à©à©±à¨à¨°à¨µà¨¾à¨° 10 ਮਾਰਠ2006 08:09:59 ਸ਼ਾ. IST Subject: [LIH]Recordings & mp3 I have been converting my vinyle records to CDs, using Audacity to record them and then converting them to MP3 files (using Audacity) before transferring them to CD using XCDRoast. During recording, I take care there is no clipping, and most of my records are rarely played, even though purchased nearly 20 years back. After transferring to CDs, the MP3s play perfectly in my computer, both through my Samsung Writer and Sony DVD ROM. But when played through my BPL MP3 player, some tracks get skipped and the player changes to the next track. This happens exactly at the same point in the CD everytime. Initially, I suspected the cheap CDs I was trying out, but the same is happening when recorded on to HP CDs also. Other CDs (purchased MP3) play perfectly well in the CD player. Someone suggested I record at 16x instead of 12x, but that also gave no improvement. Can anyone share their experiences ? Do I need to record again from the LPs ? Thanks in advance. -- --K.Ghosh 093 910 58 749 [EMAIL PROTECTED] [EMAIL PROTECTED] Debian GNU/Linux user No.301508 ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.Net email is sponsored by xPML, a groundbreaking scripting language that extends applications into web and mobile media.
