Configure procmail so that mails to
[EMAIL PROTECTED] will be forwarded/delivered to
californiahost.domain.tld
and
[EMAIL PROTECTED] will be forwarded/delivered to
indiahost.domain.tld
Configure MTA to use procmail and accept mail addressed to host.domain.tld.
If you can change the MTAs, Exim4 plus exim filter
is a better choice for such jobs.

Yes. Procmail can do. I have done it with sendmail + procmail with immediate
delivery of mails for local users.
