hi Aditya,
I have configured the entries for the nameserver & the gateway. however, it
is still not running.
Can anyone tell me what all the processes needs to be running in the
runlevels for internet connectivity ?
There is some problem with the network connectivity as even mail is not
able to run.
ciao
Vibhu..

As i said vibhu the problem could lie in the fact that you may not
have specified a nameserver for resolving the hostname. so a
certain domain to which you server is already connected can act
as a nameserver resolving a certain number of machines and not
resolving others. Please correct me if I am wrong I could be going
 wrong on fundamentals here.
