OK fine - though afaict, there's always an example sendmail.cf available
somewhere (at least in the docs)

So, that's obvious - sendmail on your box hands it off to the smarthost.

Haan Bhai ... that's the main problem.

That, and try exmh to handle your mail ;)  It's lovely.

Look at /etc/sendmail.cw then, and put all aliases of your box name into
it.  That's when it will relay for local.
