Do not be tense. As for monitor, sit with the monitor's manual in your
left hand with pages open. Remember that the manual should be held using
only your thumb, middle finger and your smallest finger and pages should
be flipped only with the help of someone belonging to the opposite sex
[A highly unusual situation WHILE you are configuring Linux]

I have noticed that the girls run away the moment one mentions Linux :-D
[No flames, and this is an order] Little else can explain my loneliness
at this end [wink hint nudge] :-D

Run XF86Setup and carefully move ahead. You will know all in no time.
Whatever you don't understand, leave. Try and run custom monitor and
keep the monitor frequencies WITHIN the ranges indicated during setup.

As for the card, take it out and notice the numbers [Card as well as
chipet]. When you have both, while running XF86Setup, indicate the
numbers and RAM amount. Run. If you have problems like bad-looking
cursor. then..

1. Disable hardware cursor [options for the card]
2. no_bitblt [options for the card]
3. no_accel [* * *]

All the best.
