1. Make each user who is using a node log into the node with their username
/ password before they start work. When they finish work they are to be
conditioned to log out.
2. Configure the windows machine to use SMB to authenticate the user
against the centralized file server (in your case, the linux machine
running SAMBA).
3. Based on who the user is (remember? they have authenticated themselves)
you can have SMB "shares" (the unix terminology is exports) that restrict
access to files based on who is accessing the file.
This gives you added things like one centralized authentication scheme (no
longer would it be neccesary to remember 10 passwords) etc.

Someone will download the internet and then publish the files on the file
server and set permissions.
