Not only an interesting thought, there is much more behind this
statement than stated earlier.

I wished to have one partition for my NT on the drive and I knew that NT
would screw up the partition table if I wished to install Linux first
and NT later.

So installed DOS and FAT on 2 GB. [More is impossible using FAT]
Then installed NT on the same and while 'upgrading' changed the FAT type
to NTFS. This rendered the whole C drive an NTFS drive. The rest 8 GB
was free.
No matter what, I could not complete installation of RHL 6.1 [On PCQ
CD]. The moment Linux tried writing to the HDD [MBR], the installation
failed. It simply could not write this MBR.

So I guess RHL 6.1 Stock [PCQ Nov] <quoting the exact source, not
inviting flames> can not write to NTFS.

Did I miss something? Or wrongly interpreted it?
