no need I done it both way

no fat is eaiser, eventhough NTFS is the native file system,
*nt* cannot create a *ntfs* system without first running the *da* or
convert utility.

of course, it cannot other wise the security system of *nt* will be poohed

you are encouraged to try *ntfs*, since this is an experimentors world

or try this which is more safe from my view (don't play with nt, and make
bill jelous).
write lilo to boot partition of linux drive while installation
boot using bootdisk, run
dd if=<device_where_u_installed_linux>
of=<filename_for_linux_boot_sector> \
bs=512 count=1
then copy that _filename_for_linux_boot_sector_ [i used bootsect.lnx] to
a floppy and transfer to the NT boot partition.
edit the boot.ini to add
C:\BOOTSECT.LNX="Linux -- As Suggested by Jiju"
save it and restart the machine, your ntloader will load lilo off the second
partition.
