Toshoboe 1.9 can be got from
ftp://bullard.esc.cam.ac.uk/pub/irda/patch-2.2.10-toshoboe-1.9.gz
there are lots of other files in that directory including a readme file
and versions for other kernels.
1.9 fixes the following:
1) memory is no longer allocated GFP_DMA (might cause trouble on systems
with mem > 64M)
2) suspend resume works.
3) the maximum baud rate is settable via the loadtime option max_baud
There are a number of issues that still need adressing, and this is meant
to be a stop gap release for those who are having problems.
